Eureka Medical Laboratories Incorporated (EML) has extended congratulations to Guyana’s senior squash team on their successful participation at the PanAm Championships in Guatemala.

Former Caribbean champion and local squash queen Nicolette Fernandes secured the gold medal in the Women’s Singles division, while the Women’s team claimed the bronze medal. The Men’s team ended in eighth place.

According to a release from EML, a sponsor of the team, it provided free PCR Covid-19 testing on March 31st at the company’s head office.

Andrew Boyle, Chief Executive Officer of EML stated that the company was always happy to support athletes at both local and international assignments, adding that the company is committed in its support for the sporting fraternity.

“Last November, EML waived the cost for PCR tests for those who competed in the Junior Pan American Games, as well as for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, which was held in August, 2021,” the release stated.

The aforementioned placements have secured Guyana’s participation at the CAC Games in El Salvador from June 28 – July 8.
