Western Tigers and GT Panthers recorded wins when the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Senior Men’s’ League continued yesterday at the Eve Leary ground, Thomas Lands, Georgetown.

Andrew Murray Jr broke the deadlock in favour of the Tigers in 28th minute, blasting a right footed shot from just outside the right of the penalty area which sailed into the top left corner. Seon Taylor made it 2-0 in the 31st minute, racing into the right side of the 18-yard area before lashing his effort into the right corner.

Northern Rangers eventually reduced the deficit in the 33rd minute, as veteran forward Gavin Wilson scored, shooting his effort into the right corner, after pouncing on a loose ball. The second half started in a positive manner for Western Tigers, as they restored their two-goal advantage in the 49th minute via Daniel Wilson.

Racing onto a pass inside the centre of the box after playing a one-two passing combination, Wilson slotted his effort into the lower left corner past the advancing goalkeeper. Western Tigers were then awarded a penalty kick following a clumsy challenge from Colin Clarke which led to a red card in the 56th minute.

Dispatching the ball into the left corner was Hubert Pedro. Rangers despite their numerical handicap, found the back of the net once more in the 64th minute in the form of Wendell St. Hill. It was a moment of individual brilliance, as St. Hill unleashed a thunderous right footed strike from 27 yards out from the right side of the field, which flew into the lower left corner.

Meanwhile, GT Panthers downed Riddim Squad 2-1. Otto Jones secured the result with a double in the 35th and 56th minute. On target in the loss was Kelvin Gordon in the eighth minute.

Also, Fruta Conquerors and Black Pearl secured wins on the opening night on Sunday at the Eve Leary ground.
