Santos and Pele secured hard fought wins when the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Senior Men’s’ League continued yesterday at the Eve Leary ground.
Santos edged Georgetown Football Club (GFC) 1-0. Jamal Butts settled the outcome as he found the back of the net in the 90th minute. Playing a one-two passing combination outside the penalty area, Butts raced into the area and slotted his effort past the advancing goalkeeper.
Meanwhile, Pele defeated newcomer Vengy 4-3. DeAndre Linton bagged a hat trick in the fifth, 30th and 35th minute while Daniel Gibson netted in the fourth minute. For the loser, Ricardo Halley recorded a hat trick in the 14th, 24th and 78th minute.
