Awo leads Dynamic FC to victory over Victoria Kings

Dynamic FC downed Elite League outfit Victoria Kings 2-0 yesterday in the East Demerara Football Association Senior Men’s League at the Buxton Community ground.

Following a scoreless opening period, second-half conversions from veteran forward Anthony ‘Awo’ Abrams sealed the result. The first of his eventual double occurred in the 75th minute, as Abrams clinically dispatched a penalty attempt into the back of the net, following an infraction inside the 18 yard area.

Abrams then sealed his brace and the result four minutes onward, racing onto a through pass before finishing past the advancing goalkeeper inside the penalty box.

Meanwhile, Buxton United and Ann’s Grove contested a 1-1 stalemate. Okemi Edwards handed the visitors the initial lead in the second minute, dispatching his penalty shot into the far corner, after being awarded the spot kick following an infringement inside the 18 yard box.

Nonetheless, Buxton United equalized in the form of Morris Barnes in the 30th minute. Rising above his marker to latch onto a cross inside the area, Morris directed his towering header into the back of the net.
