A Guyanese Special Olympics athlete Calvin Thomas yesterday won a silver medal in the men’s 5000 metres race at the Special Olympics Games in Orlando, Florida.
According to reports Thomas placed second to Anthony Shonti of the United States of America in the 5000metre event.
Another USA athlete, Sergio Cano, was third.
Thomas clocked 20 minutes and 20 seconds in the event.
