Ensure our missions abroad are headed by Guyanese with experience

Dear Editor,

So the Summit of the Americas opened in Los Angeles, California with the expected fanfare. Let me congratulate President Biden for hosting this Summit of the Americas to bring together world leaders from the North, South, Central Americas and the Caribbean. So what does President Ali and his delegation hope to achieve? If the President and his Advisors are open to wise counsel, the first thing they should do is to ensure that our Missions abroad are headed by Guyanese of stature and experience, the likes of Sir Shridath Ramphal, Bishop Fred Talbot, Rashleigh Jackson, Dr. Cedric Grant, Sir John Carter, Sir Lionel Luckhoo, Oscar Clarke, Cecil Pilgrim, Phillip Allsopp, Cheryl Miles and others. An impressive list that brought respect to small Guyana.

Sincerely,

Hamilton Green
