A fire, ignited by a candle, damaged the home of two persons at Lovely Lass, West Coast Berbice on Monday.
The house is owned by Ismay Dalrymple, who resides on the upper flat, while Clayton Webster resides on the ground floor.
According the Divisional Fire Officer (Berbice) Clive McDonald, the fire station received a call at about 3.21 am and the water tender was dispatched to the scene. He further stated that the two-storey house was severely damaged by the fire, which investigators determined was caused by a lit candle that ignited nearby combustibles.
