A man was yesterday taken before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where he was remanded on charges of possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The charges against Seon Giddings of Lot 49 Middle Street, Sparendaam, East Coast Demerara, state that on July 10, 2022 at Regent Street, Georgetown, he had in his possession a 9mm pistol, without being the holder of a firearm licence in force at the time.
It is also alleged that Giddings, on the same day, had in his possession seven rounds of live 9mm ammunition, also without being the holder of a firearm licence.
The man pleaded not guilty to both charges and was remanded.
The matter has been adjourned to July 27 for full disclosure.
