Region Four woman, 96, succumbs with COVID-19

The Health Ministry on Saturday announced that a 96-year-old woman, from Region Four, has succumbed with COVID-19, becoming the country’s latest COVID-19 fatality.

The Ministry of Health yesterday reported that the woman, who took her primary doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, died on July 22.

As a result, the country’s death toll from the virus has risen to 1,269.

In addition, the ministry’s updated COVID-19 dashboard showed that 81 new COVID cases were recorded after 463 tests were done. The new cases were recorded from Region Two, where there were 2, Region Three, where there were 3, Region Four, 42, Region Five, 8, Region Six, 4, Region Seven, 1, Region Nine, 18, and Region Ten, 3.

The dashboard also showed that five persons were in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, while 30 were in institutional isolation and 833 in home isolation.
