Prisoners training facility to be constructed for $105m

A training facility for inmates will be constructed at the Timehri Prison on the East Bank of Demerara to the tune of $105 million.

The Ministry of Home Affairs is now at the advertisement stage for the construction of the project. It is inviting eligible contractors to bid.

“The Ministry of Home Affairs invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for…..construction of training facility for inmates-Timehri Prison,” a notice from the Ministry stated.

Bids open on Thursday, July 28.

The Ministry reminded that bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) Procedures specified in the Procurement Act 2003.
