Gold is Money, Bent Street dumped from Futsal Championship

Heavyweights Gold is Money and Bent Street were sent packing in the ‘Keep Ya Five Alive’ Futsal Championship, following unlikely defeats to East Front Road, and Stabroek Ballers respectively on Saturday evening at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue.

East Front downed Gold is Money 2-0. Meshach Barratt scored the fastest goal, netting with only 22 seconds on the clock, while Tevin Campbell found the back of the net in the fourth minute. Similarly, Stabroek Ballers brushed aside Bent Street 3-0.

Seon Taylor crafted a brace in the third and sixth minute, while Dorwin George etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 17th minute. Meanwhile, Sparta Boss, Back Circle, and Slingerz recorded victories.

Sparta Boss mauled Pike Street Sophia 5-0. Nicholas MacArthur recorded a hat-trick in the eighth, 17th and 20th minute, while Eusi Phillips, and Gregory Richardson scored in the second and 13th minute respectively.Similarly, Back Circle dismissed Vengy 3-0. Stephon McLean bagged a double in the sixth and 20th minute, whilst Cecil Jackman scored in the 13th minute. Likewise, Slingerz crushed Family 5-2. Deon Alfred bagged a brace in the ninth and 27th minute, while Quincy Adams scored in the seventh and 28th minute. Commencing the rout in the first minute was Delon Lanferman.

For the loser, Amos Ramsay netted in the 26th minute, after an own goal in the sixth minute opened the team’s account.

The event continues at the same venue on the 20th. The final is penciled for the 27th at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
