A 50-year-old man died on Sunday after a tree fell on him at Blue Mountain Backdam in Region Seven.
A police report stated that the incident occurred at 12 pm on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Kewin Nathaniel Allen, a businessman of Lot 885 Angoy’s Avenue Berbice.
According to the police, Allen and his 20-year-old son operate a shop at Blue Mountain Backdam. They were both eating when they heard a loud wind blowing and then the sound of a tree breaking. They ran out of the shop, but the tree fell on Allen.
Persons in the area went to assist him but were unsuccessful.
The body was subsequently escorted to the Bartica Regional Hospital.
