Cycling action returns to the streets of the capital tomorrow with the staging of the most lucrative fixture in recent memory.

In excess of $1.5m will be up for grabs when the cream of the nation’s riders battle for spoils in the second edition of the ‘Endurance Circuit’, a collaborative effort involving the Linden Bauxite Flyers Cycling Club and Embellisha and Touche Cosmetics.

Beginning from 08:00hrs, the course around the outer circuit of the National Park will be transformed into a battleground for the cyclists as they go saddle to saddle for cash prizes and bragging rights.

There will be prizes for everyone, from BMX riders, to veterans over the age of 50.

The eight-race card will be highlighted by the 15-lap senior race where the winner will ride off with $125,000.

The second and third place wheelsmen will pocket $90,000 and $60,000 respectively.

There will be a race for the veteran Over 50 (six laps), veterans Under 50 (10 laps),  Juniors (10 laps), Juveniles (six laps) and Females (six laps).

The winners in each of the above categories will pocket at least six figures in cash.

There will also be a BMX race (half lap) and a Drag sprint (200m). The winner of the sprint race will be rewarded with $15,000 while the podium finishers in the BMX event will each receive medals.

Primes

Two primes will be added to the senior race at $5000 each.

Feeding Zones

Feeding will be permitted at one area of the 2.34 miles circuit.

This area will be on Irving Street, 100 feet from the start line, heading north towards CARIFESTA Avenue.

Motorcycles

No motorcycles will be allowed to follow the race other than the officials of the race. In the event that a cyclist suffers a puncture or mechanical problem, he or she can notify any of the officials who will assist.
