Golf summer camp attracts 86 youngsters

The Lusignan Golf Club concluded their week-long summer camp on Saturday which was attended by 86 youngsters.

A release from the Club said that the camp introduced the children to the fundamentals of the discipline. The club hosted 53 children, while the remaining 33 attended satellite camps in Hopetown, Berbice. The Hopetown leg was organized by Dr. Philbert London and Tanza McAlmont.

“Instructors showed the children such basics as the grip, the swing path of the club and putting techniques. On the last day a mini tournament was held and the results were as follows:  Age – Under-8 – 1st 11 points – Kaydan Patiram, Ruquiya Mohamed, Zion Hinckson, and Daquan Rosario – Age – 9 – 12 – 1st – 13 points – Gordon Nickerson, 2nd – 8 points – Angel Archer, 3rd – 6 points- Vanessa Pragash – Age – 13 -16 -1st -14 points – Keyshawn Grant winner, 2nd – 10 points – Denzel Alves, – 3rd – 9 points – Shine Haynes”, the release stated.
