An option to join virtually is also usually available. Ramkellawan, a businessman of Eteringbang Landing, Cuyuni River and Martinez, a Venezuelan national were discovered dead in their Eteringbang, Region Seven home on Friday June 28, 2019 by an employee.

It is believed that the couple died  sometime between 3 am and 5.15 pm.

Police had suspected that they were victims of a murder-suicide. It is believed that Ramkellawan fatally shot Martinez before taking his own life.

Autopsies later confirmed that they both died as a result of gunshot injuries to their heads.

Investigations had revealed that on the afternoon of Thursday June 27, 2019, the couple was seen by persons in the community consuming alcohol. They continued to do so into the wee hours of Friday morning.

An eyewitness told police of hearing an argument between the couple during the course of the Friday morning. They later went into their home where the argument continued and sometime after, the eyewitness said, two  gunshots were heard. The police had said that Ramkellawan bore a gunshot injury to the right side of his head while Martinez had a wound on the left side of her head.

A 9mm Taurus pistol and eight live rounds were found between the couple’s bodies. Two spent shells were also recovered at the scene.

The couple shared a common-law relationship and operated a fuel business in the community.
