Slingerz FC won the West Demerara Football Association League Knockout championship, defeating Den Amstel 1-0 Friday evening at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora.

Following a scoreless 90 minute regulation time interval, wily attacker Ricardo Halley made his presence felt slamming his effort into the back of the net in the 107th minute to secure the championship.

Meanwhile, Uitvlugt defeated Pouderoyen 3-1 in the third place playoff. Kelvis Fraser bagged a double in the 43rd and 87th minute, while sibling Keswin Fraser broke the deadlock in the 16th minute. For Pouderoyen, Matthew Chidune found the back of the net in the 66th minute.
