Deplorable drainage and mosquito nuisance cause elderly citizens to leave Bel Air Park home

Dear Editor,

The roads and certain aspects of drainage is in a deplorable condition. In terms of roads, it is 80 to 85 % pot holes with nothing being done despite several complaints to the city hall and the ministry of communications. As for drainage there are problems at the corner of Ituni St and Barima Avenue where the water from the internal drain overflows onto Barima Ave, damaging the road, and by the northern cul-de-sac in Rupununi St & Arupa Place West. I am kindly appealing to the Ministry of Public Infrastructure and the Mayor and City Council for assistance. My wife and I are both in our 82nd year and had to move to a relative’s home because of the mosquito nuisance.

Sincerely,
