Linden vendor fined, bailed on separate drug and firearm charges

A Linden vendor was last Thursday charged with possession of marijuana and methamphetamines along with the possession of a firearm and ammunition.

The police stated that 47-year-old Royston Hilliman of Main Street, Amelia’s Ward, Linden was arrested last Tuesday and brought before Magistrate Wanda Fortune via Zoom at the Linden Magistrates Court.

Hilliman was charged with having 2 grammes of cannabis and 19 grammes of methamphetamines. He pleaded guilty to the cannabis charge and was fined $5,000, and not guilty to the methamphetamines charge and was released on $40,000 bail.

Additionally, the vendor also denied having a firearm in his possession and was grant $200,000 bail, while being released on his own recognizance for the possession of ammunition charge.

The matters were adjourned until November 10th for reports.
