A young miner is now a remanded prisoner after being charged with the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Akeem Daniels, 24, of Lot 548 ‘B’ Field, Sophia, Georgetown, was arrested last Thursday at the Gold Finger Landing, Cuyuni River in Region Seven.
The Guyana Police Force said Daniels appeared on Monday in the Bartica Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Crystal Lambert, who read the charges to him. He pleaded not guilty to both charges and was remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned until October 13 for continuation.
