A Region Three man who is accused of dousing his wife with hot porridge in August was yesterday arrested in Corriverton, Berbice.
According to information gathered, an intelligence-led operation by Berbice’s lawmen resulted in the arrest of Ajay Persaud also known as “Nicholas”, 24, a joiner of Lot 3909 La Parfaite Harmony, West Bank Demerara.
Persaud was wanted for questioning in relation to the attempted murder of Analee Gonsalves on August 23, 2022 in Region Three.
Stabroek News was told that the man was arrested at Sukhpaul Gas Station located in Corriverton just around 8. 20 pm yesterday.
He was then taken to the Springlands Police Station where he is being held.
Gonsalves reportedly suffered severe burns to her face, back and other parts of her body.
