First Lady Arya Ali on Friday launched two beautification projects in Berbice on Friday.

The projects, which will see the creation of an entertainment park in Corriverton opposite the Skeldon Market and a recreational park in New Amsterdam, are part of the First Lady’s National Beautification Project, which is being rolled out countrywide.

According to the First Lady, parking lots, play facilities for children, a walkway, benches, and washroom facilities would be constructed at the sites.

The parks are somethings Berbicians have longed for since the launch of the First Lady’s beautification project in Georgetown.

According to a statement from the Regional Chairman David Armogan’s Office, Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, Deodat Indar, who was also at the location, said that work on the projects is expected to start shortly and should be completed before the Christmas holiday.

Armogan and Regional Vice Chairman, Zamal Hussain, who were present at the launch, welcomed the projects within the region.
