Chief Executive Officer of the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA), Sherwyn Greaves on Wednesday presented the keys of the Plantation Perseverance community facility (Parcel 303 Block XVIII) to Deputy Chairman of the Eccles/Ramsburg Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC), Ramesh Persaud.

Also attending the brief ceremony were Deputy Director of Community Development at CHPA,  Donell Bess-Bascom, residents and other community representatives.

A release from the CHPA said that Greaves stressed the importance of the facility for promoting health, wellness and cohesion among youths and other residents.

The ground was developed by CHPA to the tune of $15.4 million. Works undertaken include the installation of a 968 square feet chain-linked fence with two gates, levelling and sand filling of the ground, construction of a single 600-meter culvert and installation of eight 60 watts solar powered lights around the facility.

A committee will be set up to effectively and transparently manage the use of the ground.

The CHPA also handed over three community facilities last week for Prospect Phase One, Herstelling Plot ‘A’ and Herstelling Plot ‘V’.
