Sharon Scott, the 53-year-old woman who was burnt and chopped by her reputed husband, Leon Bobb one month ago, died yesterday in the Burnt Care Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH).

Relatives told Stabroek News that Scott died at approximately 3 am yesterday. She had suffered first degree burns about her body.

The dead woman’s niece told Stabroek News that Scott was in the Intensive Care Unit for one month. She stated that as a result of the burns her aunt suffered, some of her organs were also affected. Sharon Scott’s son,  Seon Scott, who also died from chop wounds to his neck in the attack by his father was only laid to rest last Sunday.

One month ago, Bobb of Anns Grove, East Coast Demerara, chopped his son to death while he was asleep. Bobb then chopped Sharon Scott several times about her body, drenched her in gasoline and set her ablaze. Bobb later cut himself in the abdomen, ingested a poisonous substance and set himself ablaze. He died while receiving treatment at the GPH.
