The Chambers of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has advised the Guyana Police Force (GPF) to institute a charge of murder against 24-year-old Ajay Persaud over the death of his wife from burns.

Persaud had initially been charged with the attempted murder of 20-year-old Annalee Gonsalves. The mother of two passed away on October 14 after spending two months at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
