J.C. Supermarket noise nuisance being dealt with

Guyana Police Force Region Three Commander, Mahendra Siwnarine, has stated that complaints about the noise nuisance emanating from J.C. Supermarket is a matter that is currently being dealt with.

He made this comment after residents of Boodhoo Scheme made several complaints on the issue.

Stabroek News contacted Commander Siwnarine for a comment on the issue. He responded that he had received a report on this regular weekend occurrence and that the matter is currently being dealt with.

According to a letter received by Stabroek News, residents of Boodhoo Scheme, Schoonord, are constantly disturbed by amplified noise [music] coming from the parking area at the J.C. Supermarket located in front of the scheme. The amplified noise is coming from parked vehicles in the parking lots with the noise usually starting at around 6pm and continuing sometimes, after 12 in the morning.

The letter also stated that numerous calls were made to the La Grange and Leonora Police Stations but to no avail. This situation occurs almost every night and gets much worse on weekends, the letter added.
