After 21 years of blind support for the PPP/C, I now will support a baggage free 3rd Force

Dear Editor,

I have been a PPP/C supporter since 2001. That is for twenty-one years. In that time I have often defended the PPP/C turning a blind eye or not seeing its autocratic and selfish side. The PPP/C will not change until the current “Leaders” are replaced leading to a regeneration of this coalition governing party. I could be wrong. I am now looking for a Third Force in Guyanese politics which will not coalesce with neither the PPP nor the PNCR. Forget about the AFC as they are too opportunistic in my view.

Such a Third Force must be able and willing to “share de corn”. That is, redistribute Guyana’s wealth and accept the need to share political space with opposition political parties (not necessarily through power sharing). It must understand the need for an impartial and independent media. I am not looking for perfection in people as I myself am not perfect. I am sure that there are many Guyanese who feel the same way as I do.

Is there anyone who is willing to throw their hat into the ring and form a new political party? Preferable someone without any political baggage.

Sincerely,

Sean Ori
