Man charged with possession of fake US currency

A man was yesterday arraigned in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on a charge of having forged United States currency.

Twenty-four-year-old Steffon Vandenburg (address not provided) appeared before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus who read the charge to him in Court Two.

The charge states that on the 27th of September at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters at Eve Leary, without lawful authority or excuse, he had in his possession one forged $100 United States of American currency note.

Vandenburg pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released on $75,000 bail. He will make his next court appearance on December 14 for statements.
