Industry man found dead in Ogle trench

The body of a 53-year old man was found submerged in a trench at Ogle on Thursday.

According to the police, acting on information received via an unknown caller, ranks found the body on Thursday at about 06:05 hrs in a trench in front of the Ogle Centre Ground, East Coast Demerara. The body was found face down with head and body under water, in a sitting position on a green and black bicycle. It was clad in a yellow striped shirt and blue jeans.

The body was later identified as 53-year-old Gangaram Ishram, of Lot 214 Industry Housing scheme, also on the East Coast. The body was pulled out of the water and no marks of violence were seen.

Carol Ishram, the sister of the deceased, identified the body and mentioned that her brother was an alcoholic and had no medical illness or problem with anyone.

The police summoned the emergency team from Alberttown Fire Station, the body was checked and pronounced dead by a doctor.

The body is currently lying at the Sandy’s Funeral Home.
