Tombs found on Port Mourant site earmarked for hospitality institute

Seven tombs  have been found on the Port Mourant, Berbice site earmarked for the hospitality institute and the Ministry of Health is seeking information from the public on the identity of the persons who are buried there.

In a notice in yesterday’s Kaieteur News, the Ministry of Health notified of its intention to identify and re-inter the remains located at a field adjacent to the GuySuCo Training School at Port Mourant.

The notice said that the government has embarked on the establishment of the Hospitality Training Institute and during the clearing and grubbing of the site seven concrete tombs were unearthed.

“As such, relatives of the deceased and/or persons with any information leading to the identification of the remains, are asked to contact the office of the Central Board of Health” at 226-8158 or email secretarycentralboardhealth@gmail.com by today, November 14, 2022.
