A Kitty man was on Wednesday placed on $100,000 bail after being charged with possession of narcotics.

It is alleged that the defendant, 25-year-old Ossi Day, of William Street, Kitty, Georgetown, on November 3 at Kitty, had in his possession 103 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking. The man pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail.

Day’s attorney, Darren Wade, argued that the narcotic was not directly found in his client’s possession but rather in the vicinity where his client was walking. The attorney said that Day and his friend were walking through an alleyway where the narcotic was found.

However, according to Prosecutor Shundel Chapman, at the time when police ranks approached Day, he had a black plastic bag in his hand and after he was searched, the cannabis was discovered in the bag.

Day’s matter was then adjourned until January 18.
