A Surinamese man, 64-year-old Newienchander Ramdin has been missing in Paramaribo since April 3, 2022 and his relatives believe he is in Guyana.

Ramdin resided at Sulaiweg 18, Paramaribo, Suriname and was last seen by his son-in-law, Rakesh Baboeram.

Baboeram told Stabroek News yesterday that Ramdin left his home around 6:45 am, however, a few hours later, the family noticed he had not returned. The same day they tracked his phone and found his car parked near, Wijdenboschbrug, along with his phone.

It was also mentioned by Baboeram that his father-in-law had left home without any official documents.

Ramdin’s disappearance is under investigation by the Surinamese police. Given the circumstances, the police are convinced that he is still alive and recently the family received some information that he could be in Guyana.

His family is asking for anyone with information regarding Ramdin to contact the Surinamese police on the numbers +597403645/+597403252 (voice calls) or his son-in-law’s number +597 8772802 (voice and WhatsApp).

He is  “hard of hearing” and may be using a hearing aid.
