Deshana Skeete, Former South American Youth Games Gold Medalist, will now compete for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) giant University of Kansas following a successful stint at junior college institution New Mexico Junior College.
The Linden native, and former Mackenzie High School standout, etched her name in the local track and field history after winning the gold medal at the 2017 South American Youth Games in the 400m, as a 15 year old.
She also copped bronze in at the same distance in the 2018 Carifta Games, following dominant displays in the 200m and 400m at the Schools National Championship.
