Trinidad woman, 43, charged with murdering husband

(Trinidad Guardian) Forty-three year old Judith Lakhan has been charged with the murder of her common-law-husband Likhram Primlal. She appeared before Magistrate Adrian Darmanie on January 6th. The matter was adjourned to February 3rd. 

 

According to police reports, Primlal, 49, of Chaguanas, allegedly got into an argument Lakhan who lives at the same address on December 30th. He reportedly left the premises and returned some time later, when he was allegedly stabbed by Lakhan with a knife. 

 

He was taken to hospital for treatment where he was pronounced dead. 

 

The suspect was subsequently detained by officers of the Chaguanas Police Station. Investigations were supervised by Supt. Dhillpaul, ASP Persad and Insp. Hosein, all of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Three. Lakhan was charged with the offence by Cpl (Ag.) Griffith, also of HBI Region Three, on Thursday 5th January, 2023 following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Honore Paul, on that same date.
