Biker dies at Foulis

Police are probing a fatal incident which occurred at about 5 am today on the Foulis Access Road, East Coast Demerara involving motor van GJJ 9493 (which is not in working order) and motorcycle CK 648 owned and driven by Jevon Chappell, a 22-year-old of Section ‘D’ Non Pariel, East Coast Demerara.

The police say that the motorcyclist was proceeding west along the southern side of the Foulis Access Road at a fast rate and whilst negotiating a right bend, lost control and collided with the motor van which was stationary on the western grass parapet facing east.

As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist was flung through the window into the motor van and suffered injuries about his body.

At about 5:55 am today, a caller contacted the Enmore Police Station after discovering that Chappell was motionless. He was picked up in an unconscious condition and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was seen and examined by a doctor, who pronounced him dead on arrival.
