Singh reelected president of basketball federation

Incumbent Michael Singh was returned as president of the Guyana Basketball Federation (GBF) when the entity staged its Electoral Congress Sunday at the Guyana Olympic Association headquarters, Liliendaal.

This is according to a press release from the entity.

Singh was reelected unopposed alongside  incumbent General Secretary Patrick Haynes.

Singh thanked the basketball fraternity for once again entrusting him with the responsibility to develop and govern the discipline.

Linden Amateur Basketball Association President Rawle Toney, Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association Chief Jermaine Slater and former national player Sonia Rodney were elected as the three vice-presidents.

Chavez Branche and Quincy Baird will serve as the new treasurer and assistant secretary/treasurer respectively, whilst Sileena Arjune defeated Julian Haynes to clinch the position of Technical Director.

Meanwhile, the entity made two changes to its constitution. The entity voted unanimously to change its name from the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) to the GBF. They also voted to add an ‘At Large Committee’ which will comprise the trio of Dennis Clarke, Deon Ferrier, and Leona Kyte.
