Cycling season set for official start tomorrow at the National Park

Bikers get ready, the cycling season is officially set to get off to a flying start tomorrow on the inner circuit of the National Park.

The Beacon Cafe has teamed up with the Kaieteur Attack Racing Cycle Club to stage the lucrative criterium event  which is set to wheel off from 08:00hrs under the theme ‘Paceline’.

Jamual John, Briton John, Paul DeNobrega, Christopher Griffith, Curtis Dey and Alex Mendes will be among the wheelsmen gunning to get their season off to a winning start.

Registration fee is $1,000.

Race Sequence

• Novice Race

Cyclists will be given a chance to race and ride for one lap with whatever bicycle they have.

• Females, Juveniles and Veterans 50 + will be riding together for 6 laps.

•   Seniors, Juniors and Veterans U 50 will be riding together for 35 laps.

Category spacings

•             Seniors: 1- 6

•             Juniors: 1 – 3

•             Juvenile: 1- 3

•             Veterans U 50: 1- 3

•             Veterans 50 +: 1-3

•             Females: 1-3

Presentation will be done on Monday at the Beacon Cafe located the corner of Quamina and Carmichael Streets for the top finishers. Cyclists are asked to be there for 10:00am.
