Following the Annual General Meeting and elections of the Achievers Youth and Sports Club last week, longstanding president, David Black will continue to lead the club for the next two years.

The meeting which was held at the Fort Wellington Secondary also saw the re-election of vice-president, national fast bowler, Keon Joseph. Kenje Sedoc was also elected second vice-president, all unopposed.

Stembiso Williams returned as Secretary while Shenay Roberts was elected as the new assistant secretary. The treasurer is Shamal Angel and the newly elected assistant treasurer is Steffon Adams.

The organizing secretary is Booker Williamson and Niyah Gonsalves is the public relations officer.

During the elections of the West Berbice-based club, the body also decided on the captains for the various age group divisions and senior teams.

Kemar Joseph will captain the under-11 and Kaumassy Mentore will lead the under-13. Amarie Hughes (captain) and Nathaniel Lynch (vice-captain) will take up the mantle in the under-15 category while Tulsieram Ramcharran will lead the under-17 along with his deputy, Stefon Khalil. In the under-19 division, Neville David was named captain and Ramcharran as his deputy while Jayden Samuels and Omari Arthur were named captain and vice-captain of the under-21s.

Angel was announced captain of the under-23s and Odel Miller his vice-captain. The A-team second division leaders are Sedoc as captain and Carlston Nurse as vice-captain while Samuels will lead the B-team along with Mark Reynolds as his deputy.

Black, who founded the club back in 1997, thanked all the members for their support while outlining a robust plan for the club’s progress and development over the next two years.
