An East Coast Demerara (ECD) man was on Tues-day granted $150,000 bail after he appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, and was charged with intent to forge a deed of gift.
The charge against 42-year-old, Brian Anthony Harper, of Golden Grove, ECD, states that between January 1, 2019 and December 10, 2019, with intent to defraud, he conspired with a person or persons to forge a deed of gift.
After the charge was read, the Administration of Justice Act (AJA) was not applied by the prosecution and as such the magistrate proceeded to grant bail in the sum of $150,000.
Along with bail, Harper, a mason and taxi driver, was also ordered to report to the Major Crimes Department at the Brick-dam Police Station every Monday at 9am until the conclusion of the matter. The case was then adjourned until March 8.
