Alliah Simon wins wetlands contest

The Ministry of Natural Resources has congratulated the winners of the World Wetlands Day competition.

Alliah Simon came first and was followed by Delicia Pompey and Damethri George.

The ministry in a statement said that “Wetlands are a critical part of our natural environment, and they play an important role in protecting our shores, reducing the impacts of floods, absorbing pollutants and improving water quality”.  It commended the winners for taking an interest in and making the effort to participate in this competition.
