The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) said yesterday that it had postponed the Essequibo against the Select XI Inter-County match but said the Demerara versus Berbice encounter will commence today.
“The Guyana Cricket Board hereby advises that the first-round match between Essequibo and the Select X1 scheduled for the Enmore Community Centre ground from February 25, 2023, to February 28, 2023, has been postponed until further notice,”
A release from the board stated.
“This is due to an assessment on the afternoon of Friday, February 24, 2023, which indicates that the ground is not in a suitable condition for play,” the release added.
“This means, that the first-round match between Berbice and Demerara scheduled for the Guyana National Stadium, Providence will begin from 0930 tomorrow, Saturday, February 25, 2023,” the GCB release ended.
