Tuschen hotel receptionists robbed at work by bandits

Two women were on Saturday afternoon were robbed by bandits, one armed with a gun, while on duty at the Double Day Hotel and Rental at Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo.

According to a release from the police, the women, aged 19 and 20 who are employed as receptionists at the hotel, were on duty when they observed a man armed with a gun and his face covered with a black cloth enter the building.

The man demanded money and was shortly after joined by a second man whose face was wrapped in a grey cloth. The armed man robbed the women of their phones valued $85,000 and $30,000. The men also removed $7,000 from a drawer of the hotel.

The suspects then made good their escape. Police are investigating.
