New Swedish non-resident ambassador accredited

President Irfaan Ali on Monday accepted the Letters of Credence from the non-resident Ambassador of Sweden to Guyana, Anders Bengtcén at the Office of the President on Shiv Chanderpaul Drive.

During the ceremony, the President said that Guyana values its friendship with Sweden.

The President also spoke about Guyana’s national development strategy, which he underlined is based on the country’s Low Carbon Development Strategy that pays specific attention to the value of the ecosystem and biodiversity contained in the country’s forests.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Inter-national Cooperation, Hugh Todd and Per-manent Secretary at the Ministry, Elisabeth Harper were also at the ceremony, a release from the Office of the President said.
