Teleperformance opens new branch in Georgetown

Outsourcing company, Teleperformance, opened a second branch at a newly-constructed office block at Middle and Thomas streets, North Cummings-burg, Georgetown, yesterday afternoon.

Speaking at the ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Teleperformance’s (TP) Middle America region, Andres Bernal, spoke about the company’s accomplishments and future plans. He remarked that the new space will accommodate  some 1,000 Guyanese who will take the country’s talents and competence to many corners of the planet.

He underscored that the ribbon-cutting ceremony was the logical step forward in a long-term partnership between the France-based TP and the people of Guyana. “Today, is the chapter in the story where we are riding together with a shining future in front all of you, TP Guyana has created and once again continues to build for hundreds of more women who trusted us to be the place to develop their careers and designs options for them.” He added that many people have recognised the company as the starting point in their careers.

Since 2016, TP Guyana has been rendering services to the United States market. Bernal said that from the very beginning the Guyana TP team has proven its ability to attract good quality staff and offer top quality service, while currently employing some 1,500 Guyanese. He noted “We can share this country’s outstanding talent and excellent attributes with the world.”

He added that despite the woes brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the company recognizes the unparalleled opportunities and advantages the company offers. He also noted that there were many more opportunities for anyone who wants to become a part of the TP Guyana journey.

Bernal stressed that it was not a coincidence that TP Guyana was awarded certification as a great place to work for a second year in a row, and was one of the most precise signals regarding what their workers think and feel about TP and how the company has moulded them to be an essential part of its future.

He disclosed that the world’s top brands are choosing the Team Guyana and TP as their destinations to handle their interactions with their customers.

Meanwhile TP Guyana Country Manager, Luis Barretto, said that TP is recognised as one of the top companies and with the help of the Colombia Teleperformance Team, they were able to build, train and make TP Guyana, a strong leader.

“We still have an opportunity to provide high quality jobs not only in Georgetown but outside of Georgetown. And with the help from the Government of Guyana, we plan to grow in sectors such as Berbice, Linden, whether it’s a working home model which is something that we process or through our working facility, which is something that we will definitely work towards reality in the near future.”

Barretto assured that the company was very passionate about being the top certified and best employer in the country and is aiming to achieve just that.
