These two incidences of cars being stolen and torched are almost identical

Dear Editor,

An item on an online news site (INews February 28), narrates an exactly similar incident, which was reported about two weeks ago, about a stolen motor car in Berbice which was torched. The facts surrounding both incidents are almost identical, both occurring on a Sunday, except that in the first case the vehicle was loaned to a friend to run some errands when it was stolen from outside a Chinese supermarket. In the second case, the vehicle was being driven by the owner, who stopped at a supermarket and upon her return to the spot where she has parked, the vehicle was missing.  The photograph in the online item of the torched vehicle is also similar to that of the previous vehicle (also torched).  Am I missing something? Is this a case of de ja vu?

Sincerely,

Shamshun Mohamed
