The body of a fifty-four-year-old labourer of Perseverance Region Two was discovered floating in a trench in the community by residents early yesterday morning.
Dead is Gharbaran Rampattie.
Rampattie reportedly suffered from epilepsy for the past five years and was a habitual drinker.
The body was discovered floating in the canal by vendor Gangadai Bhreegunandan, a short distance from where she lives. Residents then raised an alarm and informed the police. The body was fished out and no marks of violence were seen. It escorted to the Suddie Public Hospital which it awaits post mortem.
Rampattie lived alone at the time of his death.
