Guyana’s Jonathan Van Lange got his revenge on Ramon Vila of the Dominican Republic  via a four game straight whipping to move into the quarterfinals of the boys U19 singles event of the Caribbean Regional Table Tennis Federation’s U19 and U15 events.

Van Lange was defeated 3-2 by Vila in the boys team event after he held a two sets to love lead.

Yesterday there was to be no such reoccurrence and Van Lange was ruthless in winning 11-7, 11-9, 11-5 and 11-1 to set up a meeting with Puerto Rico’s number one Oscar Birriel today in the semis. Birriel got past Trinidad’s Nicholas Lee 3-1.

The other semi-finalist are Eduardo Darley of the Dominican Republic who whipped Joel Butler of Jamaica  4-0 and De Andre Calderon of St Lucia who edged out Rafael Cabrera 4-2 of the Dominican Republic. Guyana’s Colin Wong, Umar Percival and Krystian Sahadeo all lost in the round of 16. In the girls’ U19 singles Thuraia Thomas lost to Josielienne Boekhoudt of Aruba 4-1 in their quarter final encounter. In the boys doubles Van Lange and Wong lost in the semi-finals of the U19 division to Cabrera and Vila of the Dominican Republic  0-3 while in the U15 boys doubles Malachi Moore and Ebo Mc Neil lost to Alexander Perez and Alexander Tejada of the Dominican Republic 2-3 in the semifinals. In the U15 girls singles Jasmine Billingy lost 0-3 to Chloe Fraser of Trinidad in the quarterfinals while Mc Neil reached the quarterfinals of the boys U15 singles before going under to Tejada 0-3.
