Guyana places fifth at CARIFTA Games

The Guyana CARIFTA Games track and field team ended in fifth place at the just concluded 50th anniversary games held in Nassau, The Bahamas.

The powerful Jamaica contingent as expected were runaway winners with a whopping 40 gold medals.

The host country The Bahamas, with 10 gold medals were second and Trinidad and Tobago with nine gold medals third.

St Kitts/Nevis with five gold medals were fourth and Guyana with three gold medals, fifth.
