A self-employed man has been charged with larceny after allegedly stealing a gold chain.
Thirty-one-year-old Jeremy Smith, a self-employed resident of Lot 139 Meadow Brook Gardens, Georgetown, was arrested on April 29, appeared at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrates Court yesterday before Magistrate Sunil Scarce, where he was charged with larceny committed on Lenese Bobb-Semple.
Smith is accused of stealing one gold chain valued at $91,000 from Bobb-Semple on April 19 at Little Diamond, East Bank Demerara.
He pleaded not guilty and bail was granted in the sum of $40,000.
The matter was adjourned to June 2, 2023, for disclosure.
