Woman charged with damaging cell phones, TV

Clarel Darel appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly where she was charged with two counts of damage to property.

The first charge states that on March 8, 2023, at Lot 36 John Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown, she unlawfully and maliciously damaged one iPhone 12 Pro Max valued $195,000, property of Denesha Welcome.

It is also alleged that on May 5, 2023, at Lot 1841 Festival City, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, she  unlawfully and maliciously damaged one Samsung Galaxy cellphone value $85,000, one 32-inch television valued $98,000, one DVR valued $45,000, and one glass table valued $20,000, all property of Nigel Fraser.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to both charges that were read to her.

Magistrate Daly proceeded to grant the accused $80,000 bail for the first charge and $100,000 bail for the second charge.

The matter was adjourned to July 19.
