Intermediate bodybuilding c/ships set for Saturday in B/ce

The numbers are in, 19 athletes will compete at this year’s Intermediate Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships scheduled for Saturday in Berbice.

This is according to President of the body, Keavon Bess who also told this publication that Fitness Express and the Guyana Olympic Association will be the main sponsors of the annual fixture.

According to Bess, eight athletes will compete in bodybuilding, five in Men’s Physique, two in Ms Bikini and four in the Mr. Berbice segment.

The Attorney-at-Law added that trophies, hampers and bragging rights will be up for grabs on competition night at the Berbice High School.

Saturday’s event is scheduled to get underway from 18:00hrs and tickets cost $1500. Venisha Monroe who stole the hearts of the bodybuilding fans at the Novices Championship in March in

Linden, is scheduled to take her talents to the Ancient County to compete.

Monroe, who has had several sweat soaked sessions at Space Gym 2.0 preparing for the event, will be among the favourites to take home hardware following the second statutory tournament of the federation for 2023.
